Ultimate3 QRSS kit - keep cool

 

To prevent drift and other stability problems, Hans wrote that it would be a good idea to add a small heatsink to the crystal of the DDS. Unfortunatly I didn't have any low profile heatsinks laying around. My local component supplier (Explorer Elektronica in Almelo) has a large collection of these things and also special thermopath adhisive stickers to mount them. These heatsinks are made for large CPU's (40 pin dill) but a few strokes of the iron saw and some grinding made a perfect one.

Also I cut a small part for the PA fets (I mounted 2 extra) and used the same adhisive pads.

LPF filters in slots 0..5 : 10m, 12m, 15m, 20m, 30m, 40m

 

These new settings seem to make it work nicely. Drift is now most of the time 0 and sometimes +1 of -1 on the 10m and 12m.
